A drug or medicine is, broadly speaking, any substance other than food which, when taken into the body, affects the living protoplasm. A drug can also be seen as a chemical used in the diagnosis, prevention, treatment or cure of diseases.  In pharmacology, a drug is a chemical which by interacting with biological systems produces some changes in them.
